Chinese Translation of Linsanity: Wherefore Art Thou?

Hi folks,

Here is the Chinese translation of Linsanity: Wherefore Art Thou?

In case that you would want to share this article with someone who you know that would prefer reading this article in Chinese.

I’ve posted this article in several quite popular Chinese Lin fan forums. However, I feel that great articles like this got buried by others not-so-good posts very quickly. So I decided to post it here thanks to JIntel’s generosity. Let’s go JLin 17!

Chirico

首先是基思-史馬特 Keith Smart(顯然不是很聰明)。

他被ClutchFans(火箭球迷網站)和 鄉巴佬羞辱和取笑 。

注:Wherefore Art Thou?

    Dear Chirico:

I am so grateful to you for having translated my article into Chinese. I wish I could read it…oh, wait I already know what it says…but I still wish I could read it. It seems so abstract to me that anyone would translate something I have written into another language. It seems surreal to me. Like a dream. Like something that couldn’t possibly happen in reality and yet it has. I can’t thank you enough for your translation. I am very happy that people who prefer to read Chinese and are more comfortable reading Chinese because it is their first language can comfortably read and better comprehend what I have written. Again I can’t thank you enough for having created this translation of my article. Thank you for your hard work and diligence. I hope some day I can write another piece good enough for you to want to translate. But even if I don’t I am very grateful that you have chosen to translate this particular piece. And peace to you. I hope you are doing well. Even though I can’t actually read it, of course, it nevertheless looks great in Chinese Ciao for now.

    • Chirico

No problem, the pleasure is mine. I wish I have more time doing translation for great articles like this of yours and those great analysis by JLintel. i have to thank you again for giving me this unique opportunity which taught me a lot of things.

If time permits I’d love to translate good peices like this one.

  • Forthelin

    Nice!

    • Chirico

      Thank you. Forthelin.

  • Thanks so much for this translation, chirico. Wow! That must have taken a lot of time to do. Doing translations is not an easy task. Hopefully this will allow even more people to read this beautifully written article. The more, the better! I hope this article finds its way to those who’s primary language is Chinese so they can get a really good summary of Lin’s journey in the NBA thus far. I can’t read it myself, but I hope it is as beautiful in Chinese as it is in English.

By the way, I love seeing an article in Chinese characters on this site. It looks really cool to me. Hope to see more articles written in Chinese!

    • Chirico

      Indeed, Philosopher,
Thanks again for allowinge to post it here.

We are not alone. There are a huge amount of bball savy fans who are Chinese. They are enjoying this one very much and many DO agrre with our views toward Jlins challenges and his story. I hope this serves an example that we could bridge the gap of language barrier in tow different readership and continue to point out and expose issues that we know need proper justification if possible.

I could also try to translate good articles or analysis related to JLin from Chinese to English as well if time permits.

  • ashley

    Dear Chirico,

Excellent job on the translation! I’m so impressed with your passion and dedication and glad to know you can write in Chinese. Posting the translation and the link on Baidu not only allows more Chinese fans to better understand Lin’s predicament but also helps promoting this blog. Speaking of Chinese fans, I wonder if they are voting for Lin or know about the NBA all star ballot. I hope they are!

    • Chirico

      Yes, Ashley,

These Chinese fans are fully aware of all star vote and voting for Lin.

The world is smaller than you think. With the help of Internet, people are actually connected much closer than they perceive.

When i told them there are a sizable Jlin fans in the US who care about and support Lin and aware of this unfair treatment Lin has been enduring in his bball carrer, some of them almost cried when they read this article and were so happy to know that they are as Lin fans not alone in this world too!

Again, thx for you kind words!

      • ashley

Thanks for the reply. I was asking because I think Lin is getting far fewer votes than last year–he got the 4th highest votes last year but this year he’s the 9th, as I learned a while ago, and the selfish Kobe is going to be voted in regardless of his poor performance this season. No doubt Lin has lost lots of votes due to negative perception of the lesser performance in 2014 as a Laker. Just hope all fans know it’s a good chance to show support for him and keep voting!

  • MrPingPong

    Wow!

As I’ve said many times before, this is a wonderful Lin fans blog with wonderful participants!

Have a great day/afternoon/evening/night everyone, wherever you are on this WEB!

  • MrPingPong

Just trying to keep the traffic flowing on this page here…

Check out this more comprehensive Lin vs Blazers highlights:

    http://youtu.be/xyYExMycFcQ

With about 8:40 min left in the 4th quarter, the score was 79-76 Blazers. Lin stole the ball, drove to the basket but missed the layup! 🙁 Man, had Lin made the shot, that would have changed the momentum of the game in favor of the Lakers! Sometimes things just don’t go your way! That’s part of the game though!

    • Chirico

Fans and media are wondering why BS screwed it up in player rotation in the games VS Blazer.

It is clear that this golden rule in the mind of BS is “No Kobe, no win” while the reality based on current Lakers roaster is “No JLin, no win.”

Second thing that is clear about his player rotation, he would play players like Price, Johnson as much as possible.

Third, he has been praising Price’s defensive aspect of the game while we heard post game comments that other non lakers PG either blew by him or had easy moment dealing with him.

      • old & in the way

        Dear Chirico:

Right on! Price is not a good defender. He is too small, too slow and not strong enough due to his lack of size to be anything but a very average defender. Sometimes he is not even that…that is, average. Jeremy is a much better defender than Price in spite of the unjustified criticism that he continues to receive for his defense. He helps out on defense routinely which sometimes leaves his own man too open. But to me this is an asset and not a weakness because most of the time he is quick and fast enough to both help his teammates and yet recover in time to get back to his own man. Only occasionally does he get burned by helping out too much. Some people have said that he shouldn’t help out his teammates at all because it just makes him look bad when he is unable to get back to his own man. But I think all the helping out he does on defense benefits his team much more than it hurts it. To me this is an invalid criticism of his defensive skills. People simply don’t understand what he is doing or don’t appreciate how difficult it is to do it as well as he does. That BS chooses to give players like Price, Johnson and Ellington more playing time than Jeremy and sometimes by a large margin just demonstrates to me how incompetent a coach he is. And it is surprising to me that he can be so biased that even as a former player he refuses to recognize and acknowledge Jeremy’s on-the-floor value for winning games. It surprises me in spite of the fact that I expect it. It surprises me because Jeremy is that good that it shouldn’t be as difficult to see as it apparently is to all of these biased individuals passing judgment on him and effecting his playing time. To use a basketball term it should be a slam dunk to see how good Jeremy is and yet even experienced basketball people seem quite capable of blowing this particular slam dunk. None of us have any trouble seeing how good Jeremy is but many within the NBA establishment have nothing but trouble seeing it. May it soon be otherwise for even the most narrow-minded NBA establishment types. It can’t happen soon enough for me. Ciao for now.

    • old & in the way

      Yo’ Mr. P&P:

Jeremy looked very good in these highlights. That missed fast break lay-up off the steal at 79-76 Portland would have been beautiful and a great shot had it gone down. The Leaker/Lakers chances of winning this game though were squashed by typically bad BS coaching decisions like only giving Jeremy 19 minutes of playing time. BS is following ColdBrick down the drain and will not make it all the way through his 4 year contract without being fired. It is just a matter of when. His coaching skills are laughable. I am crying for Jeremy but laughing at BS and his lack of credible basketball coaching expertise. He may have been a decent enough NBA player but as a coach he is totally unqualified. I have seen too many former players who can’t coach to ever believe that simply having been a good player in the NBA in any way qualifies one to even be a coach let alone be a good one. Go, Jeremy…cool the Heat. #17 ALL-THE-WAY!!! Ciao for now.

      • MrPingPong

I agree with you, Old & In. BS ain’t got no coaching skill. It baffles me how the Lakers FO got hook-winded into hiring BS.

As a side note, Larry Bird is the only NBA personality who was both MVP as a player and COY as a coach. When he resigned from coaching in 2000, after losing to the Lakers in the NBA final, he said something like had he known better, he would have started as assistant coach before taking on any HC job to get some experience first! (Sorry I was unable to dig out old news articles to support my claim here). One unassuming man, Bird is.

  • It’s safe to say that despite Kobe’s absence, JLin is only getting more minutes if someone hits Price in the face or if Price gets foul trouble. Because the BS that is BS refuses to see JLin as better than Price.

    I could see a lot of fun basketball with JLin, Boozer, and Black/Davis playing together. But sadly I only get less than 20 minutes with BS and his BS decisions.;

    • old & in the way

      Dear Charlie:

It is safe to say that BS has more BS in him than a herd of young bulls being fattened up for market. And it is also seemingly becoming safe to say that ColdBrick is not the main obstacle in Jeremy’s path unless, of course, he is obstructing in absentia. It is becoming safe it would seem to say that BS is acting alone in oppressing Jeremy’s playing time with little real input from the old brick himself. When it comes to BS, BS seems to be the King of the Corral all by himself. I’d like to put his f-ing BS ass out to pasture once and for all. You, too? Me, three. And everyone else, four and five!! Bye-bye, BS. Don’t let the door hit you in the ass on your way out.

  • MrPingPong

Hello Lin fans/non-fans, just making game day conversation here…

At the time of this writing nobody in the media knows whether or not KB will play against the Heat tonight. KOFs (Kobe Only Fans) and Kobe himself should realize by now that no anti inflammatory medicine, no massage therapy, no cryogenic machine, no modern medicine technology can help an 36 NBA-year-old body cheat father time. If I were KB, I’d save my body by not playing tonight in order to put on a show against the King and company on Thursday.

The Heat are healthy and riding on a convincing victory over the Clips two night ago. Still, just give Lin the key and let Lin run the floor and the Lakers will win. But we know that will never happen, right?

You only have 20 mins max, JL17! So letzzz gooo!

  • Jameer Nelson of the Celtics is being traded. So that means a PG spot is now open in Boston!

    • old & in the way

Wow!! That could be good. I wonder if they have any interest in Jeremy? The Boston coach,,,whose name escapes me at the moment…is young and innovative and I think Boston plays an up-tempo game which would well suit Jeremy’s strengths. Any team would be better than the Los Angeles Lakers and anyone would be better than BS. This gives me some hope that Jeremy may escape his current nightmare scenario at some point but perhaps not until next year.

  • JLin +9, 16 mins
    Price 0 pts, -12, 32 mins
Because that totally makes sense… the BS is strong in this coach.

Poll: How many games will Kobe be shooting less than 20%?

    • MrPingPong

Yes Charlie, the BS is very very very strong! 🙂
Kobe should have heeded my advice and sat out this game. He’ll be too broken to play Thursday night.
I feel bad for true Lakers fans! “I really do!”
I scan the game threads on SSR, Lakersground and RealGM, nobody has anything good to say about BS. And that is putting it very mildly.

As to our man Lin, what can we say but no Lin no win! From BS point of view, obviously it’s all Lin’s fault that the Lakers lose.

Letzzz beat the King and company come Thursday, JL7! That is if BS let you play.

  • MrPingPong

Hello Lin fans/non-fans, what a game last night against the Heat! I am simply not articulate enough to find words to describe it.

I have a non-serious and simplistic theory about BS’s coaching last night. In case you don’t know it already, Pat Riley, former Lakers coach and current Heat’s President, chimed in a few days ago that BS was “a very good coach” (http://www.lakersnation.com/lakers-news-pat-riley-on-byron-scott-a-very-good-coach/2015/01/11/). So BS returned the favor by helping the Heat, a so-so team sans Wade, win with his good coaching.

I got a big chuckle out of this post on Lakersground by some nashftw that I’s like to share with you:

“Scott is pushing for the team to change its name to the LA Snakers as a tribute to Kobe and Price.”

Have a great morning/afternoon/evening/night wherever you are on this WEB!

    🙂

    • old & in the way

      Dear Mr. PingPong:

Interesting link but I think that Pat Riley is either senile in regards to his assessment of BS’s coaching skills or he has not been paying close enough attention to current events. For now I’ll go with the latter. The Leakers may not have a championship roster but with proper coaching they could have an additional 7-8 wins which would put them a touch over .500 which is wear I think they should be and would be with a real coach and not this fraudulent BS nonsense.

As far as snakes are concerned…I like snakes. They are a much maligned animal and not nearly as bad as some humans I have encountered in my long and varied life. I’d rather dine with a cobra than with some of the people I’ve been forced to share my meals. I like L.A. Leakers better than L.A. Snakers. Snakers makes me smile for sure but it also slanders snakes which are far more moral animals than many humans I submit. Snakes…si. Humans…not “no” exactly but I’d have to think long and hard about it before giving a “si”.

LeBron next? You know how that goes. No Lin no win. It all depends on how much playing time The Moron gives Jeremy. Play Jeremy 35 minutes, let him run the offense and play through his mistakes and I would guarantee a victory. But the way BS does it probably we’re looking at another loss. Nevertheless, go Jeremy!!!! And ciao for now,

      • MrPingPong

        Hello Old&In:

Shall we say that Riley was only BS’ing? 🙂
BS was surely a good coach from the point of view of the Heat, since he coached the Lakers to the Heat win! 🙂
I’m sure Riley watched last night’s game and got a good laugh out of the brilliant coaching of his “protege”! 🙂

And didn’t you know BS called Price “the head of the snake”?

        https://twitter.com/serenawinters/status/547634187377709056

So what we have here is a very unique creature with Price as the Head of the Black Mamba Kobe! Scary stuff! 🙂

        • old & in the way

          Dear Mr. P&P:

SCARY…indeed. Not only does BS lack adequate intelligence but he is also delusional. I don’t tweet or twitter so I was not aware of the Serena Winters tweet that has the Scott quote about Price being the head of the snake due to his defensive presence. This is a zombie rationalization to cover the fact that Scott is highly biased in favor of other African-Americans. He is like a black Archie Bunker if you are familiar with that fictional television character from the popular 1970’s sitcom “All In The Family.” Or to use a more contemporary example, Stephen A. Smith, the hysterical Lin-hating analyst who works for ESPN. A-hole Smith was the first media creep I heard trash Jeremy back in the early days of Linsanity. Smith was the first media creep to proclaim that Jeremy in his words “couldn’t guard anyone.” This was utter nonsense then and it is still utter nonsense today. And just as nonsensical is the notion that Price is a premiere defender. He is nothing of the sort as we all well know. His defense is almost always ineffective and there are no defensive statistical data to support the claim that he is a good defender. All that “the head of the snake” has accomplished for Scott and the Leakers is a 12-27 record. Some head and some snake that. Scott has made statements in the past which imply and from which I infer that he shuns actual facts and statistical data. Instead he has stated that he uses the “eye test” to make his evaluations. He is apparently blind as well as delusional. Scott’s “eye tests” are invalid when it comes to making correct assessments of a player’s actual on court performances. And especially so if he his “eye tests” tell him that Jeremy can not defend but Price can. WRONG DUMB FUCK!!!!

As far as the black mamba is concerned it is so hard for me to think of Kobe in those terms now that I had completely forgotten about it and didn’t even make the connection when I first read the Snakers bit. To me this season Kobe is more like a polliwog than a lethal species of snake. So my mistake in the sense that I just missed the humorous connections in the Snakers joke. But Price as the head of this mythical Leakers snake is an even bigger joke. Thus my “eye test” tells me that Kobe is the polliwog and Price may be the head of the polliwog but any other allusions are strictly delusional. The more I am forced to witness Scott’s act which is pure fakery the more I resent and detest the man. I have in fact lost all respect for him. The fact that he was once a decent player is no longer relevant to me. Anyway in those Laker-Celtics match-ups in the 80’s I was always rooting for Boston for many reasons too numerous to reference and explain here.

I can’t wait for Jeremy to be freed from this Leakers forced labor camp plantation. What a psychic hell hole and much worse even than Houston. Who would have thought that a California location could be worse than one in a god-awful place like Texas? Not me that’s for sure. I am reminded of that old quip, “be careful what you wish for as you may just get it!” Yikes indeed and scary beyond words. Ciao and out for now.

Einstein’s insanity: doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. Case in point: the L.A. Leakers, BS and the Old Brick. Brick Starters–136 minutes, 42 points and -34; no Lin no win bench–103 minutes, 33 points and +19. Kobe 3-19 fg’s. Kobe should have the grace to retire. Mitch Upchuck should fire BS and then immediately after that resign or fire himself. It is clear the Leakers/Lakers play better team basketball without Kobe. I suggest they would also play better team basketball without BS and Upchuck, too. Unless, of course, as many of us have expressed already in past months they have thrown this year’s team under the bus and are trying to deliberately lose games in order to protect their high draft pick and build for the future. But the future may prove to be as bad as the present given who is driving this ship of fools. Either way the FO and the coaching staff has become a colossal joke of monumental proportions. I am saddened that once again our beloved Jeremy Lin is stuck in the middle of such a nightmare basketball scenario. The bottom line in last night’s game for me though is Jeremy 16 minutes, the fewest allotment of those who played, and Ron Price 32 minutes, the highest allotment for those who played. No Lin no win. BS is literally and not figuratively speaking but literally a very stupid man who lacks wisdom and whose perceptive powers are clouded by bias and a lack of adequate intelligence. Unless, of course, the Leakers are deliberately tanking. At this point although it is difficult to imagine anyone as dumb as BS I am leaning toward the former and not the latter of these two explanations. BS is just too stupid for words. He makes McDummy look wise which is hard to imagine but 12-27 speaks for itself. With a much better than 12-27 roster a failure of this magnitude is clearly the responsibility of the head coach and the rest of his staff.

  • Chirico

What I expect what BS will be doing, based on your Einstein’s insanity comment. BS is going to do what he did in the game VS Heat over and over again. When it only works once out of fifty times, he would turn back to you and say: “See? I told you, I was right! Ronnie and Kobe are the best players in the Lakers (Snakers?), my starters are awesome!”

16mins? Is this JLin’s new minute cap? No, that’s not what’s on BS’s mind. He probably think 5mins,

Snake? is that the one in the Bible?

    • MrPingPong

Kobe is the Black Mamba, a highly venomous snake. Price, according to BS, is the head of the snake. So Kobe’s head is now Price, which explains why Kobe can no longer shoot! Give BS credit where credit is due! 🙂

      • old & in the way

Kobe is a polliwog. Price is the head of the polliwog. And BS is a fucking frog in the body of a toad. Kiss the toad and it will turn into a ugly old black man pretending to be a coach in the NBA. But all of it is nothing but very bad fiction and I am sick of it.

  • old & in the way

According to JeremyLin.net Price and Kobe are sitting tonight and Jeremy is starting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It about fucking time. Go Jeremy. If he gets 35 minutes on the floor the Leakers will definitely win the game. But naturally I don’t trust BS at all. Let’s hope Jeremy stays on the floor most of the night.

  • ashley

Too bad Lin failed to make a statement today, in the game where he finally got to be a starter. He wasn’t as aggressive or energetic as in the Magic’s game. There were two times he was fouled but didn’t get the call. The Lakers didn’t play well as a team; there were only 7 assists, the lowest in team history. Young played like Kobe, who may have ISOed too much, but got lots of foul calls as well as good scoring stats. Don’t know if BS’s instructions limited Lin’s play, but I feel Lin could try to play more wildly and freely like Young, who, whether making the basket or not, almost always looks confident and impressive to the audience. Just some random thoughts.

  • old & in the way

    To All:

Well, he didn’t play 35 minutes but on this night in this particular game it may not have made any difference. The whole team played poorly and seemed to have been bitten by the second of back-to-back games bugaboo. It is extremely difficult to beat anyone in the NBA when a team commits 21 turnovers as the Lakers did tonight. And the only reason Young scored 24 points was the 13 fta’s. He made all 13 which is commendable but he gets a lot of calls that others might not get. Jeremy…zero fta’s!? I was only listening to the game…I couldn’t see what was going on…and the Lakers announcers are not good and didn’t say anything about this but zero fta’s for Jeremy? It is hard to imagine that he wasn’t fouled on multiple occasions since it sounded like he was running the offense much of the time that he was in the game. I can’t explain his seemingly flat performance but he did seem to be playing some good defense based on what Ireland and Thompson were saying on the Lakers radio feed which is what I was listening to. It was the second game of back-to-back games and he has not generally played well in these games. Still he must learn to and he only played 16 minutes in the first of these games against Cleveland. So basically I am at a loss to explain his less than stellar performance. I do think that BS is restricting him by instruction but he still could have played better even within these coaching decisions and constrictions. Phoenix next on MLK day in Phoenix. He will be well-rested by then but will he get the playing time? If BS stays consistent with the patterns he has established up to now stupid though they may be and if KB and RP are available, Jeremy may not even see the floor for extended periods against Phoenix. And it is even more difficult to perform at a high level with the sporadic usage. We shall see what we shall see come Monday. But my optimism ebbs and flows. Right now it is ebbing. May it flow again and the sooner the better.

    • Chirico

I’m with you on this one.

I do sense beyond the conspiracy theory that Jlintel has mentioned before, there could be something going on between BS and JLin. BS not only in several cases that he falsely painted JLin as the scapegoat for Lakers loss but also altered the truth of the how good JLin as a PG vs. Price as a PG. As Jlintel had mentioned many times that putting Price before JLin as your team starting PG serves no justifiable reason.

This is just another form of discrimination in disguise.

like I mentioned before, BS is carefully and slowly killing JLin’s bball career.

All we can hope is JLin get to choose to go to another team run by people who truly embrace the idea of team ball and play JLin the way he is supposed to be played. The last question, will he be playing for a coach without discrimination? in the cultural melting pot of the great America, ha, are American only take things seriously between white and black? Do American people understand there are are so many other races with much larger population and diversity in the world . having said that do most of them realize they are just a minority in this world?

      • old & in the way

        Dear Chirico:

I’m afraid Americans are brain-washed idiots or that is to say to many of them are thus. 4% of the world’s population but users of over 25% of the world’s resources. But this won’t last much longer. Only American imperialism allows such inequity to exist and soon America’s creditors will pull the plug and the empire will cease to exist. The most populous ethnicity on this planet by a lot is Chinese. Americans are a small minority in comparison. You are so right.

Here’s a little bit of indirectly good news. The Slash Brothers blew out Houston in Houston tonight by 25 points. Thompson and Curry made Harden and Beverley look like the frauds that they are. The Dubs play consummate team basketball and Kerr as a coach puts McDummy and McScottie to shame. Before this season began I didn’t really know if Kerr would be a good coach or not but he has blown the doors down. Originally it seemed to me that Jackson got a raw deal but how can you argue with 32-6? I wish Jeremy could play with Golden State. Even coming off the bench he would shine on a team like the Dubs who truly do play team basketball in every sense. Tonight the final score of the Houston-Golden State game was 131-106. I listened to the game on the local broadcast with Tim Roy (incorrect spelling but that is how it is pronounced) and loved every second of Houston’s humiliating defeat. It looks like there will once again be no championship for Harden & Howard. What a shame. And none for McDipshit or Fat Morey. There is some justice in this world even if none of it is finding Jeremy this season. Hopefully his day, too, will come and soon. Ciao for now.

  • Chirico

I’m not surprised that the game VS Jazz ended unlike that. BS single-handedly orchestrated this loss.

He enforced the so called triangle ISO offense and put Young on the spot to be the replacement of Kome.

According to the post game news, BS even mentioned the reason Lakers got only 7 assist was because Kome did not play. Another evidence for the fact that he is just a Kome worshiper.

It seemed he was rather trying to prevent his team from performing at optimum level than worrying about how to play defense against Jazz.

    • ashley

Not only did he attribute the team loss to Kobe not playing, but before the game, as is reported, he also said something like he wasn’t calling Lin soft but Price was really a tough kid and that toughness can’t be acquired all of a sudden, and that you can’t be someone you’re not. Every Lin fan must have gotten worked up by such total BS. But we really need to be wise enough not to be influenced by such BS talk. The more he talks, the more I realize how biased and sick he is. And I find the discovery a bit shocking.

      • old & in the way

Byron Scott is disgusting. His subjective proclamation that Price is tough thus implying that Jeremy is not is his rationalization for starting an inferior player over a better one. He can’t say, “I’m biased in favor of black players because I’m black, too, and I am biased against Asian players because I’m an idiot.” So instead he repeats the excuses he has heard others use…like a mimic or like a monkey or like a hominid which is what human beings are. The bullshit that Jeremy lacks toughness is a cover-up for the reality of prejudice and bias. We shouldn’t be too shocked by it although I concede it is difficult to understand such stupidity. And make no mistakes about it…Mr. Byron Scott on the basketball court or anywhere else lacks adequate intelligence. He is like a programmed robot. He only knows what he has been told to know. He can’t think independently. He can’t think critically. He can’t think out of the box. He is a dummy and he is the main reason the Leakers are 12-29. Jeremy is as tough as any other NBA player and they are all mostly very tough. Any hint to the notion that Jeremy Lin lacks toughness is total and absolute bullshit. So that is what we are left with. Byron Scott is total and absolute bullshit. He lacks honor and integrity. He is repugnant in his inability to treat people equally or as equals. He is repugnant because he lacks adequate communication skills which is one of the most important elements in coaching as well as in most other endeavors in life. Byron Scott is a fraud and a fake when it comes to being a coach. Perhaps playing the game is the only skill he has ever had. Coaching is certainly not one of his skills if he has any others beyond having been a good NBA player. Compare Byron Scott to Steve Kerr as a coach. The Golden State roster is only a little bit better than the Leakers roster but look at the difference in results. That tells you all you need to know and says everything that needs to be said. Communication skills. Byron Scott has none. Thus 12-29 compared to 32-6. Nothing more needs to be said. The man is a repulsive idiot. There…I just broke my own rule and said more than needed to be said. But it is obvious that the man is an idiot.

        • ashley

Dear Mr. Old & in the way,
You said it all and you said it well! It’s said that BS is considering a starting lineup change. So he’s probably saying all that BS to justify starting Price again. Let’s see! Solute to your sharp, mighty pen!

          • mybaby2

            Correction: “Salute” instead of “Solute.”

          • old & in the way

            Dear Ashley:

Thank you for the salute. This is the first I have heard about BS contemplating another line-up change. As much as I think Jeremy should be starting and would like to see him starting I will believe it when it happens and not before. In all honesty even though I believe that Jeremy should be starting I don’t think it will make any difference who starts as long as BS is still the coach. He will screw up the games no matter who is on the floor or for how long. The solution to this Leakers’ mess from Jeremy’s perspective is to move to another team. The Leakers are hopeless with their current coaching staff and FO. It is unfathomable but true that the Leakers are even worse for Jeremy than was Houston. Who would have thought any situation could be worse than Houston but the Leakers are. And I am very tired of hearing the same old lame rationalizations from these NBA establishment coaches like McFail and McScottie…Jeremy isn’t tough, can’t defend, is too inconsistent, can’t play the point, etc., etc.. These morons must all be reading the same handbook of coaches’ excuses for trashing good players undeservedly.

Here’s wishing Jeremy good fortunes tonight in Phoenix. Let’s hope he gets significant playing time and plays well whether or not he starts. Now if BS is thinking of benching Ko-Bay I would like that one but we all know this will never happen. BS is Ko-Bay’s lap dog I will say although sometimes it is difficult to tell who is wagging who. Go Jeremy #17.

  • MrPingPong

Greeting to all Lin fans/non-fans from Los Angeles! Yes, I am currently in La la land (just for the long weekend), but Lin is not here. No Lakers home game for me to attend! Who says life has to be fair? 🙁

I was traveling yesterday and missed the Jazz game completely. From what I read, Lin did not have a good game nor did the rest of the team. But, you know me, I am not a bit worried about Lin. The second game of a back-to-back is always tough, especially if the team has to go from the sea level of La la land to the high land of Utah where the air is much thinner. Lin will bounce back nicely against the Suns, in spite of the total coaching BS of BS.

In case you haven’t seen it, here is Lin’s postgame interview:

    http://youtu.be/9epffkpg0y0

I think Lin is very relaxed and seems to have come to term with the BS he has to deal with this season. He will continue to try play his game, laying everything out on both ends of the floor. I love this young man! He will ultimately triumph! 🙂

A side note to Old & In: In case you want to watch live Lakers games, Jlinportal always posts a bunch of links to live streams of NBA games on every game thread page. Just be careful not to click on anything that requires you to install “stuffs” on your computer though. Your computer will get infected with all kinds of bad stuffs! So Be Ware! 🙂

  • Go JLin!

  • old & in the way

This was another winnable game blown by horrendous coaching or orchestrated by the consummate tank commander. Either way the magnitude of the loss is on BS and his assistants. When Jeremy sat down at the 2:36 mark of the third quarter the game was still within reach with the Leakers down by 5. When he came back in at the 7:20 mark of the fourth quarter the Leakers were down by 17. Game essentially over and lost with Jeremy sitting on the bench unable to contribute anything on a night when he was playing quite well. Once again BS in 100% BS 100% of the time. As a coach I hate the man. He is inept, incompetent and possibly corrupt. If he is not deliberately trying to lose these games, he might as well be as the results look the same and are impossible to distinguish from one another. He is a coaching liability and a farce. If the Leakers are really trying to win games it then becomes mind-blowing that the FO could think BS was a better idea than MDA. FO and BS assholes one and all and they deserve each other. But Jeremy and the other players do not deserve them. Once again for enough said and/or written. Ciao.

  • old & in the way

    Dear All:

For those of us who love to hate James Harden (and count me in) here is some more data to make your heart warm. I heard this last night on KNBR radio which is a sports talk station in San Francisco. This is a very short excerpt from a James Harden interview prior to last Saturday’s game against Golden State in Houston. This is James Harden talking about the Warriors. “They’re not really that good. At least not compared to MY team. They have only a slight chance of winning tonight’s game.” Really James. Well, reality is that a mere 2-3 hours after your brilliant comment the undermanned (by your account) Golden State Warriors beat your superior team on your own home court by a ho-hum 31 points. Klay Thompson shut you down completely. He neutered you, you arrogant, vulgar, ignorant fool. You are apparently as ugly and clueless on the inside as you are on the outside. I just love it when fools expose themselves for all to see. My prediction is that James Harden and De-White Howard will win exactly the same number of championships as Carmelo Anthony…ZERO. And may I never have to eat my words with or without soy sauce. Tonight the rematch in Oakland. I shall say that Houston isn’t really that good. At least not compared to the Slash Brothers’ team. Houston has only a slight chance of winning tonight’s game. And here’s hoping I don’t turn out to be as stupid as James Harden. I’m sure Houston wants to win this game for the revenge factor if nothing else but I’m also just as sure that Golden State does not want them to win this game. Should Harden be humbled again I shall be gleeful for Jeremy’s sake as well as my own.

And speaking of Jeremy good fortunes to him tonight in New Orleans. A pacific evening to #17 with lots of minutes on the floor and lots of points and assists. And maybe even a win to break that 5 game losing streak. The 5 gamer though is squarely on BS and his asinine coaching. Ciao for now if anyone is still reading any of this. Any We-Gee boards out their? If so, what do they say?

    • Lol James Harden thinks he’s great, until the playoffs come around and suddenly he doesn’t get the foul calls he’s used to getting. All of a sudden he looks pretty pedestrian.

I expect another first round exit from these Rockets. Then the GM and the head coach will really look dumb. Can’t blame anything on JLin anymore.

      • MrPingPong

You’re right, Charlie. The postseason refs are the best of the refs and do not give Harden freebees any more. Also McHale overused Harden during the regular season, so by playoffs time, Harden was spent, so it seemed!

I live in Houston and used to attend just about all the Rockets home games to root for Lin. I posted a bunch of videos on Youtube as well. Now, I don’t follow the Rockets nor do I care about them. And yes, they don’t have Lin to blame for their losses anymore! 🙂

  • http://www.basketball-reference.com/boxscores/201501210NOP.html#LAL_advanced::15

Guess who had the best defensive rating against the Pelicans?

Also guess who tends to be among the best on the team in defense? Guess who tends to be among the worst? (The answer for best is easy, the answer for worst is the one who replaced the best as a starter)

  • MrPingPong

Hello Lin fans/non-fans! Just making conversation here…

Due to travel and work, I completely missed the Suns game and was only able to catch the fourth quarter of the Pels game last night. I watched the part when Lin was playing and turned off the stream when Lin sat. From what I’ve read, Lin did really well in the first half, but then got to play about 1 min and a half in 3rd quarter! What else is new? I feel bad for true Lakers fans. I really do.

From my perspective as a crazy LOF, I think Lin is doing just fine. There were so many phantom calls on Lin as well as non calls against Lin. Lin is doing the best he can under the circumstances. I take whatever I can get from Lin whenever he is on the floor. The silver lining here is with limited playing minutes, Lin has less chance for getting injured. There is plenty of basketball left for Lin after this lost season with the Lakers.

Well, Lin will get to up against Parker this Friday! Lin will boss. My wee-gee board says so! 🙂 Letzzz Gooo JL17!

  • It’s as if the basketball gods are sending the Lakers a message by injuring Kobe’s shooting shoulder. But let’s see if BS can actually see the message and do something about it.
