By Phil Cicchi/old & in the way 翻譯: Chirico

    Dear Chirico:

Thank you so much for your great effort and diligence. I didn’t think you had yet even started to translate. You snuck up on me and you are so quiet I didn’t even know you were there…or that is to say HERE with the entire translation completed and posted both in the U.S. and in China. You are stealthy and productive. As before it looks great in Chinese. I wish I could read it in Chinese although I think I know what it says but you know what I mean…I wish I were also fluent in Chinese as I am in American English. The only “glitch” I can see given that I can’t actually read it is that you have the wrong year in for the San Antonio DNP-CD game. That was 1-23-15 but you have it as 1-23-14. I’m sure that most people will be able to figure out that it is a typo but you may want to correct this for accuracy and to clear up any confusion it may cause. But I mostly just want to thank you immensely for being such a good partner and finishing this entire project so quietly that I didn’t even know you had begun it let alone already finished it. Go, Chirico. I don’t know if I shall ever write anything else good enough to deserve translation but even if I don’t it has been a great pleasure collaborating with you on the two articles we have now successfully completed. Gotta go as my breakfast beckons to me and I am quite hungry this morning. It must be all the good karma you are sending my way. Ciao for now.

    • chirico

Thank you for pointing it out, Old & in.
I’d made change on the year.

I was surprised by the fact there were overwhelmingly number of replies to this article in a day.

Old & in , Chinese Lin fans already know you. Most of them love your article and are with us supporting Lin.

Im so grateful to you that we together are spreading the words out to help Lin supporters understand in depth regarding to the challenges his faces.

    • Gary (the happy) Teng

      Dear Chirico,

Wow! Already 31 replies, and all are positive!

I am so happy for you and old & in the way!

Please keep up the great collaborations!

    • Awesome, Chirico! Thanks for spreading the word. That’s so cool that Chinese Lin fans know “Old & in the Way”!

      • Chirico

Yes, they do already. Some of them would help us spread the words by posting it at some other famous Chinese sports forum as well.

Anyway I saw this post somewhere at one of my favorite jlin Taiwanese fans blog isay.

        http://www.isay.tw/2015/02/JeremyLinStroy1594/

I don’t how it got picked up by them but I really like those bloggers at that site since they keep getting out really informative and analytical articles about Lin on each game basis.

The replies are so many that i could not believe it is happening!

  • old & in the way

    Yo’:

Denver loses tonight to Philadelphia. How much longer can Brian Shaw keep his job? MDA in? Jeremy signs with Denver as a FA this summer? It could happen.

Here’s an interesting note. The three former Lakers who are head coaches this season…Scott, Shaw and the guy in New York (I’ve gone blank on his name)…have a combined W-L record of 42-103. Ouch. The Lakers organization is becoming or has become a colossal joke in just about every regard. Jeremy out of L.A. now, now, now!!

  • Wow, Hill out. Kobe out. Young on the bench. Price on the bench. The basketball gods are screaming their lungs out to make BS play JLin style basketball. How creative will BS get to tank? He’s running out of players to take the ball away from JLin.

    • MrPingPong

Yes Charlie, the GOBs (Gods of Basketball) are screaming for BS to let Lin play. So BS let Lin play last night for 30 min, coming off the bench still.

BS wanted to beat Jason Kidd so badly that he had to play Lin from 3:36 min left in the 3rd quarter -non stop and all the way- till 0:11 left in OT, when Lin had to foul Knight to stop the clock and fouled himself out. One could tell that Lin was gassed.

It was the anniversary of Linsanity and Lin came so close in pulling off a win for our beloved Lakers team. Lin had an off-shooting night but sure did orchestrate the offense well and played really good defense. He had the team play team ball! The Jeremy Lin way! 🙂

My position is always the same: give Lin the key, let Lin run the floor and the Lakers will gel and win! I can dream, can’t I? 🙂

  • MrPingPong

    Yo, Lin fans/non-fans…

I missed tonight’s Magic game. Lin played well from what I’ve read. And BS was just BS as usual. Never bet against Lin, folks! He will do just fine.

    🙂

    • Gary (the-mixed-blessing) Teng

      Dear Professor MrPingPong,

      Lucky you!~~~

I was not as so lucky. I endured watching another self-torturing and self-flagellating game. 🙁

Just one small consolation — I finally learned my lesson from last week so I did not engage in another self-mutilation act this time. 🙂

      • MrPingPong

        Dear Dr. GT, the mixed-blesser:

Just follow JL17’s lead and squeeze the the most you can out of those 20 min of play time!

        🙂

    • ashley

Glad to learn that Lin had a good scoring game, though he kept feeding Young, who failed to deliver again. Obviously, in limited playing time, players are bound for more inconsistency. That’s why star players are given enough playing time every game to showcase their skills and obtain good stats. Therefore, I have to lower my expectations for Lin and just be happy for any good performance he might put out in any game.

It is reported that Lin said tanking had nothing to do with him; he learned it secondhand and he was playing to win. And Carlos Boozer said, “It is tough when you know you could be out there & help your team, but at the same time it is a developmental period.” Calling it “developmental” instead of tanking certainly sounds a lot better. So after Kobe is out for the season, the team officially entered into its experimental, developmental stage. But as long as Lin gets to play, he’ll keep growing and become a better player. And that probably is the only positive thing I can say about the remainder of the season.
